Class 2

Welcome to Class 2!

Class 2 is a mix of the best year groups - Foundation and Year 1! We are taught by Miss Brown and supported by Mrs Turner. On Wednesday mornings, Mrs Andrew teaches Class 2 whilst Miss Brown has her PPA (planning, preparation and assessment) time. In Foundation and KS1, we work very closely as a team and the children often work with children and teachers from the other Foundation and KS1 classes.

All the children have settled really well. Please do come and speak to me if you have any questions or concerns. It is important we work together for your child.

Class 2 have PE on Fridays. Please make sure their PE kit is in school all week.

In Autumn 1 we based our learning around the book 'On the Way Home' by Jill Murphy. We enjoyed role playing how Claire hurt her knee in the book, on our outdoor stage!

We went on a minibeast hunt!

In Science, we investigated which materials were waterproof.

Foundation worked with clay to make Diva lamps for the Hindu celebration of Diwali

Year 1 learned how to subtract by squishing playdough!

In RE, we made dreidels - a traditional Jewish family game

We are learning how to type!

Year 1 investigated who could roll the longest plasticine sausage in a set time without it breaking! Well done William!

In Science we made rocket mice! We went outside to fire our rockets and measured their distances. We investigated how the type and size of the bottle affected how far the mice travelled, but also how hard you squeeze the bottle.

Reading Buddies

On Tuesday afternoons, we are enjoying sharing a book with our Year 4 reading buddies!
