Welcome to Foundation!
We are the best year group in the school! We have lots of fun learning through play and exploring.
You can find us in Class 1 with Miss Brown and Mrs Blount. On Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Cargill and Mrs Meanley will work with us. We will have support some afternoons from Mrs Turner too.
On this page you will find useful information about what we do in Foundation.
Keep an eye out for our weekly newsletter which is emailed each Friday, which will tell you all about what we are learning about.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions, we are a friendly bunch!
Make sure all items of clothing, book bags and water bottles are clearly named so they don't go missing.
PE kits should always be in school. Make sure each item is clearly labelled with your child's name.
Learning through play is messy! We endeavour to keep the children clean using aprons but sometimes some mess on clothes is unavoidable. We always use things that are washable.
Spring 1 - Space
This term we have teamed up with KS1 for our topic about Space so that we can work together in our keyworker bubble. Have a look at the slideshow below to see some of what we have been up to at home and in school. We have enjoyed reading Whatever Next, Aliens Love Underpants and The Blue Balloon. We have also been doing a science project investigating materials.
Autumn 2 - Celebrations
In the second part of the Autumn term we learnt about the different types of celebrations us and others take part in.
Autumn 1 - All About Me
This term we will be learning all about ourselves and others. We will explore our likes and dislikes, talk about our families and homes, discuss friendships and find out about our bodies and how to keep them healthy.
We had our first Welly Wednesday and explored the school grounds including the wildlife garden, outdoor classroom, 'Fox's Den', the chickens, the Peace Garden and mini woodland area. The children thought they had been on a school trip as when we walked back onto the playground, one of them exclaimed "that's my school!"
