Welcome to Sunflowers!
Shh, don't tell anyone, but we really are the best class in the school...
We are a fantastic bunch of Year 6s and our teacher is Miss Lewis. We are also supported, at different times in the week, by our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Vardy, Mrs Meanley and Mrs Turner.
Every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, Mrs Vardy teaches us Spellings, Heartsmart (PSHE) and French and Mr Yates teaches us for PE (make sure you come to school wearing your PE kit on these days!).
Key reminders:
Homework:
All passwords for online homework should be in your child's reading record.

UKS2 had a very thought-provoking visit today, to the National Holocaust Centre. It really brought the learning we have been doing in school, about the Holocaust, to life. We experienced what life was like for Leo and his family (who were Jewish) in 1938 Germany, through the 'Leo's Journey' exhibition. We heard about the persecution they faced, which culminated in 'The Night of Broken Glass', also known as 'Kristallnacht'. This then led Leo's mother to send him on the Kindertransport, to Britain.
In the afternoon, we then heard from a Holocaust survivor, who talked to use, in a pre-recorded video, about their experience of growing up in Germany and how they too travelled on the Kindertransport, to Britain. We also had the chance to ask some questions.
We ended our visit by spending some time in the Memorial Garden and paying our respects to the 1.5 million children who were murdered, during the Holocaust, by placing a stone onto the ever-growing pile.
What a moving day we have had. Take a look at some of our pictures below...
